Tips:

There are alot of things to consider when hiring a DJ for your event. Here are some suggestions from us, as professionals. This is in no particular order.

  1. Many people think that getting a package deal that includes a DJ and a videographer is the best way to go. However, a DJ and a videographer have no related skills. In order to get the best of both worlds you should hire a seperate DJ and a seperate videographer. It is important that you understand that although you might think you are getting a deal by getting a package, you will sacrifice quality in either music or your final video. That is why there are DJ's out there who only specialize in DJ'ing and videographers out there who only make videos.

  2. A DJ's reputation is everything. Getting a reference from someone who has heard the DJ play or having heard the DJ yourself will probably be the biggest factor. Don't feel shy to ask for references. This will guarantee that you're not just getting someone who wants to make a few bucks! Check out some of our client reviews.

  3. DJ'ing is a skill. Not everyone can do it, and not everyone can do it well. There are things involved in being a good DJ such as being able to read the crowd. If the crowd isn't reacting to a song it's up to the DJ to be able to understand that and make a quick switch. Another skill is beat matching. Mixing songs in a seamless fashion can be done, and bhangra can be mixed if you have the skills. Being able to listen to music as a DJ is an art, a good DJ will be able to mix. One point I cannot stress enough are DJ's who play the song from the start to the end with no concept of mixing or fading. This makes the party very dull and boring. Make sure your DJ can mix !

  4. Prices for DJ's can vary. When receiving a quote find out what you are getting for that price. The DJ's reputation and demand also have a factor in the price. Another factor that will determine the price of your event will be the size of the party and the effects you choose to go with. Some prices for DJ's are very high and some are very low. As with everything, you get what you pay for. Get a feel for your DJ and find out their professionalism.

  5. With mixed-marriages being very popular, the ability to be versatile and current with all types of genres is important. Not all South Asian parties want bhangra and hindi. Make sure your DJ has a good selection of genres you are interested in. Check up on references or listen to some of their work!

  6. Go over your itinerary with your DJ. Most likely he/she will have some good tips to make your party run smoothly.

  7. What are people going to remember the most at your party? Having a great time! This will be because the music was great and they danced all night! Make sure that the DJ you hire is right for you and will meet your needs for the night. When you watch your video later on you want to see that everyone had a great time and was dancing all night!

  8. In the end, the choice is yours. As DJ's we stand by everything you just read. You will receive professional service, and the greatest selection of music and style.
